I am the owner/founder of Maine Raised Gardens. I started this business six years ago because I am passionate about home gardening and growing your own food. My mission is to bridge the gap between farms and consumers by increasing food production on a smaller, more intimate, human-powered scale.

I graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Horticulture with a concentration in design. After college, I worked for nearly six years as a vegetable research technician for Johnny's Selected Seeds. I was responsible for sourcing vegetable varieties of several crops from companies throughout the world, designing trials, and evaluating results to ultimately make informed suggestions on which varieties should be added to the annual catalog. This only furthered my love of growing.

I truly believe that small gardens pack a big punch! How? Once established, my gardens can be tended to with human hands and tools, eliminating the need for gas powered equipment. Through creative planning and design such as succession plantings, intercropping, vertical growing, and season extension, small gardens can maximize the efficiency of any given space.
